Protein Snacks Are OVERRATED

"No shit Nick"

That was the response I got when I said online that you should simply double your protein at dinner if you want to hit your protein target.

And honestly, it blows my mind how many people rely on:

  • Protein yoghurts

  • Protein bars

  • Protein powders

  • Protein pasta, chocolate, milk... you name it

I used to be the same. I thought to reach 200g of protein per day I had to live off these products. I also thought my back acne and bloated digestion were just the price of wanting to gain more muscle.

On top of that, I was spending silly money on these products and still struggling whenever they were not available.

Now they are everywhere. But here is the thing. What ever happened to simply adding more chicken, salmon, beef or tofu to your dinner?

Why are people afraid of that? Is it because the meal tastes different?

Well guess what. Your meals will taste different. That is the whole point. You have to make a change if you want to see a change.

So here is my top tip if you struggle to hit protein:

Double your protein at dinner.

It sounds simple but it makes everything easier:

  • Your breakfast and lunch can go back to normal foods again

  • Your bank balance will thank you

  • Your fruit and veg intake will improve because you are not "saving" calories for junk protein snacks

Try it for one week and watch how much easier hitting protein becomes.

If you ever need advice, send me a message.
