Why LOW VOLUME Training Was SUPERIOR For My Muscle Growth

First it was Mike Mentzer, then it was Greg (Kinobody) and now it's Jeff Nippard and other science lifters in the industry.

I understand the anxiety around lifting less.

When I started out I was super skinny.

Skinny me

I was bullied for being weak throughout my childhood.

It was when I managed to pack on weight & go from 75kg at 6ft 4" to 118kg that my confidence really took hold.

Once I discovered High Volume Training everything changed for me.

The problem came when I went onto steroids, trained 6 days per week for 2 hours per day and became jacked.

The rapid increase in muscle growth led me to feeling amazing...

But I was then left wanting more...

I couldn't be on steroids forever...

Roids

So once I came off I found it almost impossible to maintain the results I had gained.

It was challenging to have the energy to even keep up let alone stay strong.

My business as a personal trainer started BLOWING UP.

During this time my business EXPLODED and I was raking in clients.

A new problem emerged during this time...

I just didn't have the time to train like I did on steroids.

So I researched & discovered a low volume approach to building muscle.

It was actually Mike Mentzer's Heavy Duty Training that inspired this moment, and I had heard how massive he had gotten during Arnie's era.

The Mike Mentzer Story - The Barbell

He had recommended going down to 3 days per week training for 45mins, maxing out intensity to failure on at least 1 set per muscle group.

I was scared I would lose all my gains going down to this model.

But the opposite was true.

I managed to maintain my size in less than half the volume of my original training program.

I had more energy to put into my business, get insanely strong lifting a 135kg bench, 160kg squat, 210kg deadlift, 60kg pull ups at 118kg bodyweight.

Now i'm 34 years old and still rock this ethos for training.

Me now

As you devote more intensity to your training and lifting with intention, you begin to grow far more effectively.

As a business owner or someone working hard at their career, you must train efficiently.

It's not feasible or sustainable to simply train like a bodybuilder 6 days per week.

Therefore if you are seeking to become lean, strong & confident in yourself I couldn't recommend something so highly.
